Nothing we do will stop global warming
Unfortunately, Mr. Dickinson is wrong about global warming.
Even if we stop all emissions into our atmosphere, it will not reverse the trend. Most people, like Mr. Dickinson, want to deny what is happening to our planet. It is a fact. The Earth is already headed into a period where the ice caps will melt and the seas will rise. Unfortunately, he is right in that there isn’t anything we can do about it now. Many species will become extinct and many people will also perish as these climate changes take place. I agree, there’s no use in wasting money in green energy as it will not reverse the trend.
We just as well go about our individual lives and enjoy what time we have left on our precious Earth. It won’t happen during our lifetime but it is happening. Live life to the fullest and just count your blessings daily.

Visitor misses coral graffiti
I was saddened to see a couple of years ago the coral graffiti removed from along Queen Kaahumanu Highway. To me and many others, it spelled Kona. I took photos of the coral a year ago and showed them to a developer on the mainland, and he identified the pictures immediately as being taken in Kona.
I return to the island twice a year to home in Holualoa. The most recent visit, I was saddened to see the coral graffiti replaced with graffiti sprayed on with white paint and then “removed” with white paint. This is by far a worse assault on the aina. Much more so than the coral that was removed by a group of self-appointed “do gooders” because it was not something they wanted to see. What did they expect would happen?
I say, bring back the coral graffiti.
