At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested 36-year-old Oran Charles Kita of Keaau on a warrant for a 2011 case, charging him with first-degree promotion of marijuana. His bail on that charge was set at $23,000.

During his arrest in Hilo, officers said they observed marijuana in his truck. Kita was taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives continued the investigation. While in custody, he was also arrested on suspicion of promoting a detrimental drug and on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault for a 2011 case. Kita had been featured on “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” for the 2011 sexual assault case.

At 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Juvenile Aid Section detectives arrested Kita on suspicion of 42 additional offenses for the double sexual assault that occurred Tuesday. The offenses he faces possible charges for are 27 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 11 counts of third-degree sexual assault, two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and two counts of kidnapping.

The two females said they were approached by a man speaking pidgin between 1 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, who led them to a remote area and sexually assaulted both of them, police said.
