Marge Elwell
Margaret Mary “Marge” Elwell of Naalehu died Dec. 5, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo. Born May 21, 1947, in Chicago, she was a former development engineer, president of Naalehu Main Street and initiated many community projects including the Ka’u Farmers’ Market, an Internet Cafe and the Naohulelua Historical Garden, served as community representative on the Regional Hospital Board, was chairwoman of the Ka’u Scenic Byway Committee.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. Dec. 29 at Naalehu Hongwanji for a celebration of life.
She is survived by husband, Dennis; brothers, Tom and Ed Churka.
Robert Folger
Robert “Bobu” Henri Folger, 79, of Kalapana died Dec. 12, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born June 18, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a retired property manager and member of the Puna Canoe Club and a veteran of the Navy.

He is survived by spouse, Joyann Folger of Kalapana; daughter, Shakti (Mike OConnell) Folger of Honolulu.
Masayuki Sugikawa
Masayuki Sugikawa, 93, of Laupahoehoe died Dec. 8, 2015, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Papaaloa, he was a retired mechanic for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and a member of the Papaalaoa Hongwanji Mission.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Emiko Sugikawa of Laupahoehoe; sons, Wane Sugikawa of Hilo, Jed (Miki) Sugikawa of Honolulu; sisters, Patsy Yano of Honolulu, Sue (Hisashi) Hayakawa of Papaikou; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Dodo Mortuary.
Teresita Peregrino
Teresita Reyes Peregrino, 60, of Paauilo died Dec. 4, 2015, at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born Sept. 18, 1955, in Manila, Philippines, she worked for Honokaa Macadamia Nut Co. and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Dec. 28 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Dec. 29 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Cremation will follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.
She is survived by husband, Pancho Peregrino of Paauilo; son, Christian (Rose) Peregrino of Honokaa; five grandchildren; father, Manuel Reyes of Manila, Philippines; brothers, Johnny (Ludy) Reyes and Ramil (Linda) Reyes, both of Philippines; sisters, Charito Angeles, Angie Reyes and Rowena (Toto) Angeles, all from the Philippines; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Janice Lindeman
Janice Lee Lindeman, 75, of Yakima, Wash., and Kailua-Kona died Dec. 16, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 13, 1940, in Yakima, Wash., she was an office manager for a medical firm.

She is survived by husband, Robert Lindeman of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters and a brother.
