The Waikoloa man was found not guilty of attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct on Dec. 14 following an October jury trial.

The charges filed against Nakamoto stemmed from an Oct. 12, 2014, confrontation in the parking lot between Waikoloa Village Market and Pueo’s Osteria restaurant at the Waikoloa Highlands Shopping Center. During the incident, police alleged Nakamoto stabbed two Waikoloa women, Hanna Luepkes and Carli Sugimoto.
