Stand against
marijuana production facility misguided
I am not pro or anti marijuana. I am pro adult patients being able to choose any legal medication recommended by their doctor and having safe legal access to that medication.
The drive against a marijuana production facility and a dispensary in North Kohala by the North Kohala Community Association and its president, Jeff Coakley, is an attack on patients, their doctors, the law and freedom itself.
Additionally, I have a news flash for Mr. Coakley. No business person in his right mind would choose North Kohala as a location for a medical marijuana business. Why? Not enough people, not enough money and too much weed already being grown there. They’d be out of business in a month.
Mr. Coakley should turn his focus to the most dangerous, violent, gateway drug that kills and injures more people than all other drugs combined. Alcohol. Oh wait, alcohol is legal. Silly me.

Does our County Council
have something to hide?
The Hawaii County Board of Ethics, with only three members, not being able to meet since August — supposedly because they cannot find a convenient date.
There may be some underlying reasons the Hawaii County Council does not want the county Board of Ethics to meet.
Are they trying to hide something about themselves? Just a thought.

Bike lanes still haven’t
been moved as promised
Seems it was summer when I read that present bike lanes would be returned back to roadside, along with our lanes to merge into traffic.
Winter officially arrives Dec. 21, only days away, and I have yet to spot any work in progress and have not caught any news follow-up on this project.
I’m beginning to wonder if it now will be fall 2016.
I am so grateful there has been no cyclists’ accidents or deaths since this relocation occurred.
