Santa has many letters to reply to, and Strangers We Know is working to help out.
The nonprofit is seeking to send letters from Santa to any keiki on the island.
“If you would like your child or a child you know to receive a letter, please submit the child’s name, address, and anything special you would like mentioned to info@strangersweknow.org,” a press release announcing the campaign stated.
Submissions are due Thursday.
Last year’s letters were signed by Santa and included hoofprints from every reindeer, except Rudolph. Rudolph opted for a red noseprint instead.
The group is also looking for four families to sponsor for Christmas.
That sponsorship will include presents for the keiki and may include help with bills and other support, Jerrad Trotter said.
“Our goal is to spread love like wildfire. We believe love is the answer and connection is the way. And what better way to connect than through giving?” she wrote in her release.
The group began in Arizona, working with the chronically homeless and youth transitioning out of foster care.
When Trotter moved to the Big Island from Arizona, she wanted to bring the community involvement here.
