Ballroom dance club plans party

Kona Ballroom Dance Club will hold its Christmas dinner dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the club. The event begins with a meet-and-greet, followed by a full Christmas dinner. Bring a dish to share. Music for open ballroom dancing will be performed by the Greg Shirley Trio follows and includes a Viennese waltz performance and the decorating and lighting of the Christmas tree.

The club is located at 74-5605 Alapa St., Unit 101, Kailua-Kona. The event is open to the public for $10 per person. Reservations are required. Info/reservations: 334-0224.

Seniors planning holiday outing

The Kailua-Kona Seniors meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai. Members will be car pooling to the Isaacs Art Center Museum and Gallery in Waimea to see the display of Martha Greenwell’s “Mouse House,” followed by a stop at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows to view the charity trees.

A stop at the Queen’s Market Place for lunch is planned. Seating is available at the food court.

There will be no meeting at Hale Halawai.

Soil and water conservation meeting set

The Mauna Kea Soil and Water Conservation District will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service Waimea Service Center, 67-1185 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite 148. Library hosting Lego making program

The Kailua-Kona Public Library is offering a Lego program for children ages 4 to 11 at 10 a.m. Saturday. The program is limited to the first 20 children and their adult partners. Projects are the property of the library and Lego bricks will be recycled for future programs. Participants may opt to have their creations on display for the month following the program.

Event showcases cacao growers

From bean-to-bar, Hawaii is home to the only local chocolate growers and makers in the United States. A new event, the Mountain Thunder Cafe and One Island’s “Holiday Chocolate Sale,” features the home-grown delicacies from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Mauna Lani Hotel and Bungalows.

Parker School plans alumni soccer game

Parker School invites all alumni to its annual Alumni Day Soccer Game and Social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 at the school’s soccer field behind the lower school building.

Alumni are encouraged to bring their families and play soccer or enjoy an afternoon of catching up with friends, faculty and staff.
