The man accused of a sextortion case entered his not guilty plea Wednesday in 3rd Circuit Court.

Jerome Kailiwai, 39, Kailua-Kona, is charged with first-degree violation of privacy, first-degree extortion and second-degree terroristic threatening.

He allegedly placed nude photos of a woman on social media and demanded money to have them taken down. He chose to not have the charges against him read aloud. Kailiwai was represented by deputy public defender Catherine Gibson.

He is set to have a pre-trial conference at 4 p.m. Jan. 21. He had posted the $25,000 bail, which Judge Melvin Fujino maintained.

Beyond the normal requirements of bail, Kailiwai was instructed to have no contact with the alleged victim.
