A man was arrested on charges he threatened workers at a construction site, fired a nail gun and slashed a truck’s tires on Nov. 2.

Cody Lewis Allen, 23, Kailua-Kona, allegedly got into an altercation with another worker at the site.

He fired an air-powered nail gun in the direction of a 59-year old man, “putting other construction workers in danger,” police said in a press release.

“He then reportedly threatened the 59-year-old man with a post, threatened a 34-year-old man with a collapsible baton and slashed the tires of a company truck before driving away from the scene,” the release read.

Allen turned himself in to police on Tuesday, according to the police log.

He was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal property damage.

His bond was initially set at $4,250.

Public defender Andrew Kennedy made a motion that he be granted supervised release. Deputy prosecuting attorney Britt Barker did not object and Judge Margaret Masunaga granted the motion.

His preliminary hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. Jan. 7.
