George Kaikana

George Lehi Kaikana, 90, of Hilo died Nov. 6, 2015, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired lineman for HECO, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna, Alu Like and World War II Army veteran.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at the patio area of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, 326 Desha Ave., for a celebration of his life. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughter, Wendy Kaikana Olsen of Honolulu; hanai daughter, Haunani Medeiros of Hilo; sisters, Alice Kaikana, Mary Gallarde and Emma Alexander,all of Honolulu; brother, James Kaihana of Honolulu; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.

Wendy Nalimu

Wendy Lee Embernate Nalimu, 57, of Hilo died Nov. 13, 2015, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired office manager for Reed Takaaze Photography and member of Haili Church.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Dec. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by daughter, Kapuanani (Chad Kawewehi) Nalimu of Hilo; mother, Geraldine Embernate of Hilo; brother, Landis (Linda) Embernate of Hilo; sister, Candace (Jeremy) Simpson of Puna; stepmother, Joyce Ahn Sonognini of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Wallace Sumiki

Wallace Masaru Sumiki, 72, of Kapehu Village died Nov. 21, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired landscaper for the former Papaaloa Sugar Co., formerly employed at KTA Super Stores downtown and member of Honokaa Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Dec. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Geraldine Sumiki of Kapehu Village; brothers, Kaname (Loretta) Sumiki of Hilo, Stanley Sumiki of Kapehu Village, Walter (Dina) Sumiki of Baguio, Philippines; sisters, Joanne (Nelson) Iseri of Guam, Carol (Bob) Post of Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles Skuba

Charles “Lamont” Darrell Skuba, 73, of Holualoa died Dec. 3, 2015, at his residence. Born June 10, 1942, in New Castle, Pa., he was a sales associate for Costco Wholesale Store.

He is survived by spouse, Donald Sanders of Holualoa; one nephew; one niece.
