Senior ID cards issued beginning Tuesday
The Coordinated Services for the Elderly Program of the Elderly Activities Division will issue senior ID cards for seniors 60 years and older from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Waimea L. Yoshimatsu Senior Center.
Staff will also issue cards from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kailua-Kona Kmart; 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at Kohala CSE “Old Bank of Hawaii Building; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Kailua-Kona Walmart; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 23 at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building B; and 3 to 4 p.m. Dec. 29 at Honokaa Hale Hauoli Senior Center.

Hawi Reuse Center closing
The Hawi Reuse Center will close because an operator for the center cannot be found, according to the Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division. The last day of operation will be Jan. 31.
The community is encouraged to visit the Waimea Reuse Center or Kealakehe Reuse Center. The county will continue to search for qualified contractors to reopen the Hawi center.
