Jeffrey Espinosa

Jeffrey Goyot Espinosa, 31, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 18, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 12, 1983, in Davao, Philippines, he was a steward at the Four Seasons Resort and Umeke’s Restaurant and a baker at KTA stores.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at 75-199 Kalani St., Kailua-Kona, for a service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by parents, Francisco and Flora Espinosa Sr. of Kailua-Kona; sister, Joyce Lorant of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Ricky (Elsie) Espinosa, Joel (Evangeline) Espinosa and Francisco (Jocelyn) Espinosa Jr., all of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Miyuki Higashi

Miyuki “Mits” Higashi, 90, of Hilo died Nov. 25, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born March 25, 1950, in Waipahu, Oahu, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by husband, Tatsuo Higashi of Hilo; daughter, Joyce (Charles) Higashi-Ikeda of Hilo; sons, Noren (Pam) Higashi and Grant Higashi, both of Hilo, Irvin (Donna) Higashi of Honolulu, Derek (Elaine) Higashi of Kailua-Kona; brother, Sueto (Sanae) Matsumura of Kealakekua; sisters, Aileen Takata of Los Angeles, Setsuko Wheeler and Margie (Stanley) Orimoto, both of Honolulu, Jeanette (Lawrence) Maesaka of Hilo; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Alice Wallace

Alice Wallace, 83, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 27, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 13, 1932, in Honokaa she was a retired candy maker for Kailua Candy Co. and a retired cookie packer for Sunshine Biscuits in San Leandro, Calif.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Dec. 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia (Roy Guillermo) Caravalho of Waimea; brother, Manuel (Gail) Elizares Jr. of Laupahoehoe; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dr. Minolu Cheng

Dr. Minolu Reen Cheng, 74, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 27, 2015, at his residence. Born March 30, 1941, in Taipei, Taiwan, he was a medical doctor serving the Kona community for 40 years.

A memorial in celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 12 at Dr. Cheng’s office, 78-6824 Mamalahoa Highway, Keauhou Mauka. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Mei Yeh Cheng of Kailua-Kona; sons, Kipp (Mark Jarecke) Jarecke-Cheng of Maplewood, N.J., Jadd (Virginia Nicholson) Cheng of Boulder, Colo., Jeffrey (Daniel Sjoberg) Cheng of New York; daughters, Honlee Beattie of Kailua-Kona, Fanlan (Yitzik) Brenman of Belmont, Calif., Jonadine (Bret) Caillarec of Kailua-Kona; mother, Yu Yeh Huang Cheng of Taipei, Taiwan; brothers, Shen Tzong Cheng and Da Er Cheng, both of Taipei, Taiwan; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allan Lehmann

Allan B. Lehmann, 90, of Napoopoo died Nov. 17, 2015, in Honolulu. Born in Pinckneyville, Ill., he was a Navy veteran and former educator at Castle High School in Kaneohe, Oahu.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 19 at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church in Honaunau. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by son, Mana Lehmann; daughter, Noelani Hartman; sister, Barbara Lehmann.

Julia DeSa

Julia “Maleka” Kealoha DeSa, 87, of Honomu died Nov. 26, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born July 26, 1928, in Hilo, she was a retired cashier for the Keaukaha Store.

She is survived by son, Gilbert DeSa of Ainaloa; daughters, Taryn Lee Loy of Hilo, Pingo Shimaoka of Honomu, Colleen DeSa of Pepeekeo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mona Aurelia Mims, also known as “Mama Chioke,” 63, of Mountain View died Nov. 28, 2015. She was born in Virginia.

She is survived by husband, Yahdah Mims of Umauma; mother, Dulcenia Burrell of Virginia; sons, Aziz (Tomoko) Turkqueet of Hilo, Esau (Ahonui) Mims of Orchidland, Yahshua Mims of Umauma, Stanley Burrell of the mainland; daughters, Jahkotta (William) Lewis and Chioke (Iolani) Kauhane, both of Pepeekeo, Chenoa (Jonan) Mims of Paradise Park; brothers, Ronald Burrell and Donald Burrell, both of Virginia; sisters, Cherry Black and Eunice Burrell, both of Virginia, Charmaine Salbatore of the Philippines; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard Boudreau

Richard “Chick” Charles Boudreau, 90, of Waimea died Nov. 26, 2015, in Waimea. Born Oct. 31, 1925, in Howland, Maine, he was a retired Marine Corps staff sergeant and a square dance caller in Ocean View, Pahoa and Volcano.

Private services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by companion, Maggie Arbo of Waimea; sister, Betty Seaver of Augusta, Maine.

William Fujiyama Sr.

William Kalani Fujiyama Sr., 79, of Kurtistown died Nov. 23, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Olaa, he was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator for B&C Trucking on Oahu.
