“Inequality for All,” a documentary examining income inequality in the U.S., will be screened this evening in Waikoloa.

The film, which examines widening income inequality in the United States, stars Robert Reich, a former secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor, economist, author and professor. It premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in the Documentary Competition section and won a U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Achievement in Filmmaking.

In the documentary, Reich links the major issues our country faces to the rampant nationwide problem of widening income inequality. He explores the effects this increasing gap has on the U.S. economy and American democracy, as a whole. At the heart of the film is a simple question: What is a good society and what role does the widening income gap play in the deterioration of the nation’s economic health?

The free film will be shown at 6 p.m. in the Waikoloa Village Community Room off Melia Street. All ages are welcome. Pupu and beverages will be served.
