As the great and recently departed Yankees baseball player Yogi Berra would say, “It’s Deja vu all over again.”
That seems to be the case this year at the monthy Peaman events. This past Sunday, Sean “Peaman” Pagett held the Post Pigout Peamania and, as usual, it was the Luis De La Torre and Cody Ranfranz show. The two runners have battled all season with neither giving an inch.
As of late, it has been De La Torre gaining a slight edge. He took Sunday’s race, a 1/4-mile swim and 2-mile run, in a time of 34 minutes and 33 seconds. Ranfranz, who competes on the track and field and cross country teams at Konawaena High School, finished second in 35:04.
Sarah Sermons was the top female finisher and third overall placer with a time of 41.14.
