The work of 33 plein air artists will be featured during December at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea.

The Kohala PleinAir artists and the theater present “The Big Island Plein Air” Art Show and Exhibit. The show and sale will run Thursday through Dec. 22 featuring a variety of Kohala, Kona and Hilo artists who paint in the “open air” rather than a studio. An opening reception has been set for Thursday at 5 p.m.

The juried show is a fundraiser for Kahilu Theatre. Twenty percent of art sales will benefit the theater. Prizes will be awarded to the best painting in oil, watercolor and acrylic/pastel.

The exhibition will include paintings from Christine Ahia, Bob Appleman, Patricia Brock, Thinam Carroll, Patricia Cassel, Lynn Chapman, Stan Chraminski, Phyllis Cullen, Alaina DeHavilland, Anne Diaz, Virginia Fortner, Felicia Fry, Jeannie Garcia, Janice Gail, David Gary, Carol Greenwell, Ann Guth, Richard Harrison, Shery Henderson, Peter Jefferson, Barbara Jelks, Christine Kutler, Jan Marrack, Christal Nylin, Diane Renchler, Ilmar Reinvald, Richard Rochkovsky, Ginger Sandell, Greg Schultz, Sunny Seal, Leslie Sears, Mary Smith and Bob Weiss.
