A flash flood watch remains in effect through late Thursday for the Big Island, National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu said Wednesday.
An area of moisture is expected to move over the Big Island starting Wednesday night and continuing through Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding should be expected, forecasters said. The heaviest of rainfall is expected over the Ka’u, Puna and Hilo districts.
