William “Bill” Sergio Lato, 82, of Hilo is survived by sons, Bojay (Tara) Lato and Nelson Lato, both of Hilo, and 40 great-grandchildren. An earlier obituary contained incorrect information supplied by the mortuary.
David Gonsalves
David Ernest Gonsalves, 61, of Papaaloa died Nov. 1, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a manager and salesperson with the former Hilo Hattie’s and a front desk supervisor at the Kamuela Inn in Waimea.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 20 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Ookala Catholic Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by brothers, Charles Gonsalves of Pahoa, Robert Gonsalves of Laupahoehoe; sisters, Gwendolyn San Nicolas of Wahiawa, Oahu, Eva (Mason) Maikui of Waimea; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Riley Tetsumi Mende, 62, of Honolulu died Nov. 3, 2015, in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a retired banker.

Leonora Tagalicud
Leonora Agnas Calantoc Tagalicud, 85, of Hilo and formerly of Pahoa, died Oct. 26, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Feb. 22, 1930, in Hawi, she was a proprietress of a papaya farm in Pahoa and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 20, 2015, at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. An all-night vigil follows after 9 p.m. at the family residence, 15-3261 Lehualani Place, Pahoa. Friends may also call at 7 a.m. Nov. 21 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church for an 8 a.m. Mass. Burial is at 10:30 a.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
She is survived by son, Rogelio Tagalicud of Pahoa; daughters, Estrella (Jesus) Bartolome and Mildred (Eddie Ancheta) Carlos, both of Pahoa, Jovylyn (Gabriel) Jose of Kona, Elmie Tagalicud of Hilo, Naida (Flor) Castro of Honolulu; hanai daughter, Cynthia Rambo of Hilo; brother, Alfredo (Holly) Calantoc of Minnesota; sister, Lourdes Balicoco of Hilo; 12 grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Veba Victoria Townsend, 71, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 9, 2015, at her residence. Born Jan, 18, 1944, in Hilo, she was a singer, musician, tour greeter and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kona First Ward.
