Aloha Performing Arts Company artistic director Jerry Tracy has selected six actors to join him onstage in next month’s world premiere of his new work, “Christmas with Mark Twain.”

Tracy has been portraying Twain visiting Hawaii in 1866 in a one-man show off and on for more than a decade, but is ringing in the changes this year. The action has been relocated to Connecticut and Twain’s wife and three daughters and two other characters have been added to the cast.

The play, which will be performed at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu weekends Dec. 4 though 20, is set in 1885, in Twain’s beloved “Hartford House.” Tracy will play Twain as an old man, looking back and reminiscing about the happiest and most productive time of his life, when he was 50 and his family was young and healthy.

Twain’s wife, Olivia, or “Livy” Clemens, will be portrayed by Robin O’Hara. The oldest Clemens daughter, Susy, will be played by Riley Newton. Mahina Farmer plays Twain’s middle daughter, Clara. Lotus Buss takes the role of Jean, the youngest daughter. John Holliday and Catherine Williams are Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who each play several different characters.

Tracy is directing, assisted by Tiffany Kutsunai. Designers include Gerald Lucena, set; Bob Gage, lights; Melissa Geiger, costumes; Riley Newton, sound; and Linda Meservey, props. Kerry Matsumoto is box office manager; Cameron Bailey is house manager; and Normetta Muir is concessions manager. “Christmas with Mark Twain” is produced by Kitty Powell and Engela Edwards.

Christmas with Mark Twain will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays from Dec. 4 through 20. Regular admission is $22, $20 for seniors and young adults, and $10 for those younger than 18. A discount is offered to group of 10 or more. Tickets are available online at www.apachawaii.org, by phone between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, or at the box office one hour prior to performance time.
