“Absolute Maui” — a coffee table book celebrating the timeless, inspiring beauty of soulful Maui — is back in print. With a new cover and additional scenic photos, “Absolute Maui” continues to reveal what is “absolute” about the island — perfect moments frozen in time, breathtaking shots, scenic moods and feelings.
Photo editor Douglas Peebles and writer Tom Stevens developed the book by asking Maui’s leading photographers to submit their best images that capture the look and feel of 21st century Maui.
The photography reflects the best of the best, revealing perfect moments frozen in time, breathtaking images, scenic moods and feelings. Each image was selected because it was either splendidly colorful, masterfully composed, exquisitely vivid, sharply focused, richly detailed, or brimming over with reverence, elation, and soulfulness.
Absolute Maui was inspired by the award-winning “Maui On My Mind” (Mutual 1985) and by Robert Wenkam’s “Maui: The Last Hawaiian Place” (Friends of the Earth 1971), both now considered classics. It thus provides an update to an island timeless in its beauty.
The 210-page hardcover book retails for $35 and available wherever books are sold.
