Central Pacific Hurricane Center forecasters are monitoring an area of disturbed weather far east-southeast of the Big Island.
The area of showers and thunderstorms about 1,100 miles east-southeast of the island remained disorganized Wednesday morning, forecasters said. Development is not expected as the low pressure system tracks slowly toward the west during the next couple of days.
In the Eastern Pacific, shower activity associated with a low pressure system about 550 miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula has decreased. National Hurricane Center forecasters expect strong upper-level winds to inhibit the weather system from developing into a tropical depression within the next five days.
The Central Pacific and Eastern Pacific hurricane seasons continue through Nov. 30.
