HONOLULU (AP) — More than 650,000 visitors traveled to Hawaii last month, setting a record for the month of September.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority said Wednesday the number of visitors to the islands increased 4.7 percent compared to the same month last year.

CEO George Szigeti says the agency will work with marketing and industry partners to make sure there is sufficient traveler demand for upcoming new flights to Hawaii.
Virgin America will begin flying from San Francisco to Honolulu in November and to Kahului in December. South Korea’s Jin Air will begin flying from Seoul to Honolulu in December.
