MIAMI (AP) — The storm Olaf has weakened far out in the Pacific Ocean, becoming a post-tropical cyclone.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says further weakening is expected over the next two days. Forecaster says the post-tropical cyclone is expected to dissipate by Thursday.
The storm’s maximum sustained winds Tuesday are 45 mph. The storm is centered about 1,335 miles (2,180 kilometers) east-northeast of Hilo, Hawaii, and is moving east-northeast at 10 mph.
The storm does not pose a threat to land, and no watches or warnings are in effect.
