Sean Naauao’s new album, “Lehua Beauty,” was recently released.
The CD features 11 tracks that showcase Naauao’s diversity as a vocal artist. Embracing his Hawaiian heritage, Naauao has always connected his music back to his kpuna (his ancestors and elders). The title track of this album, “Lehua Beauty,” as well as “He Aloha Oe, E Ka Lehua E” were composed by Kumu Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett. Naauao collaborated with Hewett previously in 2001 and 2002, and received Na Hoku Hanohano Award for his renditions of Hewett’s compositions. “He Aloha Oe, E Ka Lehua E” is sure to become a hula classic, and features the vocals of the 2015 Na Hoku Hanohano Most Promising Artists of the Year, Huewa.
