The Big Island managed to out perform Maui in the annual Hilo-Maui Ryder Cup held at Hilo Municipal Golf Course over the past weekend.
The Big Island team, comprised of two groups, the 13-14 year old golfers, and the 15-17 year old golfers, were led in the Big Island Junior Golf Association hosted event by Matthew Rosato, Trevor Hirata, Preston Lee Ching and Shon Katahira. Rosato, Rosato Hirata, Ching and Katahira have all participated in the BIIF and HHSAA tournament and are also members of the BIJGCA and HSJGA.
Golfers competed in a 2-on-2 best ball, atlernating shot format on Saturday, followed by an individual match play on Sunday.
