A high surf advisory has been posted for south-facing shores of the Big Island through early Sunday.

Surf is forecast to range in height from 6 to 10 feet along south-facing shores of the Big Island’s southern and Kona coasts until 6 a.m. Sunday, according to a high surf advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

The service categorized the surf’s impact as “moderate,” cautioning of strong breaking waves, shore break and strong long shore and rip currents that can make swimming dangerous.
