The FBI is seeking the public’s help in identifying an unknown man who may be able to help identify and locate a teenager who may be in danger. The unidentified man, who has made made claims to be from Hawaii, may be traveling through California or neighboring states.

The man was last seen driving a car with stolen Alabama license plate 58DZ806 on the rear of the vehicle. The blue car was similar in make and model to a Mazda Protege. When last seen on Sept. 29, the vehicle was missing the right rear hubcap and did not have a front license plate.

The man appears to be Caucasian and in his 50s or 60s. He has short-cut white/gray hair and a receding hair line. He was last seen with trimmed salt-and-pepper facial hair. In the images, he is seen wearing a dark colored T-shirt, blue jeans, white Nike high-top tennis shoes, and black prescription glasses.

He has made claims to be from Hawaii, according to individuals who were in contact with law enforcement, and might be seen panhandling or sleeping in improvised shelters. Case investigators do not believe the man and teen are in Hawaii.

The unknown man may be in the company of a white female teenager, according to the FBI. The unknown teen was last seen with waist-length brown hair and wearing a brown T-shirt, blue jeans, and brown Nike tennis shoes.

The current whereabouts of the man and teen are not known. On Sept. 28 and 29, they were seen in Laguna Beach, Calif. On Sept. 12, they were seen at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Meridian, Miss. The unknown man was possibly in Bessemer, Ala., on Sept. 11. It is likely the male and female drove from Mississippi to California between Sept. 12 and 28.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the man, should contact the Honolulu FBI at 566-4300.
