Hawaii State Federal Credit Union awards grants to educators
Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has announced the 44 recipients of its 2015 Investing in Education grant program. This year, Hawaii State Federal Credit Union awarded more than $19,900 to Hawaii educators.
The Investing in Education grant program supports Department of education teachers so they may purchase supplies, books, furniture and electric equipment, provide basic materials and fund classroom activities for students. Since 2009, Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has awarded more than $136,000 to Hawaii educators. Last year, 45 teachers in classrooms across the state benefited from a combined $20,000 in grant funding.
Among the teachers awarded Investing in Education grants for their classroom purchases this year was Kuuleinani Steinke, a first grade teacher at Kealakehe Elementary School, who will apply her grant to the purchase of basic classroom necessities, including four circulator fans for her classroom, which currently has only one fan.
New features
added to online Insurance Certificate Submittal System
The state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Professional and Vocational License Division has added a new e-file upload feature to the online Insurance Certificate Submittal System. This feature allows insurance agents to electronically submit contractor and pest control operator general liability and workers compensation insurance certificate information online at pvl.ehawaii.gov/inikua.
The new feature allows the following submittals:
· Submittals by insurers that are not licensed in Hawaii
· Workers compensation insurance provided by leasing companies
· Submittals for contractor and pest control operator licensees that were previously terminated.
These types of submittals were not possible in the previous version of the system.
Insurance agents licensed in Hawaii should continue to use the original login process. All agents will receive an email confirmation receipt for online submittals.
The service is one of many online services for residents and businesses offered through the state’s website, eHawaii.gov.
