Join master story teller, actor and kumu Robert Lopaka Kapanui for an evening of ghost stories in Volcano on Oct. 23.
Kapanui will tell the true ghost stories of Hawaii in the perfect scary setting at the Kilauea Military Camp Theater starting at 7:30 p.m.
Kapanui is a native Hawaiian storyteller, writer, actor, kumu hula, cultural practitioner, former professional wrestler, husband, father and grandpa. Sometimes known as “the ghost guy,” he makes a business of leading guests into some of the darkest, spookiest places.
Born and raised on Oahu and spending his childhood summers on Hawaii Island, Kapanui grew up hearing all the old legends and ghost stories from his kupuna, his elders, according to his biography.
Cost for the two-hour event is $20 presale and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at all Irie Hawaii locations, as well as CD Wizard in Hilo. The camp is located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
