KHON-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LhUDBl ) the police department says a Hawaii Kai resident recently received a call from someone about road work that was being done in her neighborhood. The caller asked to discuss the work in person and wanted to know when the resident would be home.
The resident became suspicious and started asking questions. The caller eventually hung up.
Police Capt. John McCarthy says the caller’s intent may have been burglary.
Police are urging residents to hang up if they receive a suspicious call, and to then notify authorities.
