Sister M. Ruth Faisca
Sister M. Ruth Faisca, 82, of Fremont, Calif., and formerly of Kohala died Sept. 17, 2015, in Fremont, Calif. She was a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family; served in catechetical, child care and parish ministry in Los Angeles, Burlingame, Palo Alto, Lodi and Pleasant Hill, Calif., Reno, Nev., Las Vegas, Honokaa, Honolulu, and Kailua, Oahu; served as a novice director, vocations director and congregational councilor; and was appointed director of life development and motherhouse director in 2008.
Services were held in Fremont, Calif. A dedication Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Memorial donations in her honor may be sent to the Sisters of the Holy Family, P.O. Box 3248, Fremont, CA 94539.
She is survived by brother, Joseph (Helen) Faisca of Hawi; numerous nieces and nephews.

John Patrick Green, 46, of Pahoa died Oct. 1, 2015. Born in Colorado, he was a handyman for WKP rentals, former security and detailer for DeLuz Enterprises, former warehouse personnel for Carpet Isle and a former little league coach.

Bartolomia Ramos Macaraeg, 87, of Hilo died Oct. 2, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a retired elementary school teacher and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct, 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Alfredo Tobias, 91, of Keauhou Mauka died Sept. 10, 2015, at his residence. Born July 27, 1924, in Waialua, he was a bartender at the King Yee Lau Chinese Restaurant and other local bars, kitchen steward and purchasing agent at the former Kona Village Resort, a custodian at Kealakehe Elementary School, security officer at the former Kona Lagoon, Keauhou Beach, Kona Surf hotels and Hotel King Kamehameha, driver for Take’s Transportation and Meals on Wheels, member of South Kona Lions Club, Visayan and Bayanihan Filipino clubs, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 20 and several senior citizens bowling leagues and an Army veteran, Purple Heart recipient.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Oct. 15 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

William “Mac” Puou Jr., 83, Opihihale died Oct. 2, 2015, at his residence. Born Sept. 4, 1932, in Opihihale, he was a ranger, demonstrator and maintenance man at Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, coffee, mac nut, taro and maile farmer and an Army veteran.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona for service in the pavilion followed by burial. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

Marvelee Kaiulani Anthony, 52, of Hawi died Sept. 27, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1962, in Kapaau, she was a former room service captain for Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and member of Gospel of Salvation Church in Kokoiki.

Jourdan Kane ku o kekai malie hawanawana Evangelista, 20, of Waimea died Oct. 3, 2015. Born Sept. 5, 1995, in Hilo, he was an independent contract landscaper.

Andrew Morgan, MD
Andrew Lane Morgan, MD, 95, of Puako died Sept. 29, 2015, at his residence. Born May 13, 1920, in Honolulu, he was a retired urological surgeon, former chief of urology and chairman of the Department of Surgery at The Queen’s Medical Center, past member of the renal transplant team at St. Francis Hospital, past president of the American Urological Association-Western Section and member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.

Fred “Freddie Boy” Himalaya, 58, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 3, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 10, 1956, on Oahu, he was chief of security for the former Hotel King Kamehameha, Keauhou Beach and Royal Waikoloan hotels; chief security and consultant for Rainbow Group Security, a security officer for HPA Security, a baggage handler for Slim Holt-Budget Rent A Car, a supervisor at Kona Tropicals Nursery and member of Kukui Malamalama O Kona and Pop Warner Football League.

Morris Kazuichi Morikami, 84, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 18, 2015, at Galanto Care Home. Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Holualoa, he was a transmission specialist and mechanic for the Goodyear Corp. and an Army veteran.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts.
