A swell generated by Hurricane Oho will bring advisory-level surf to north- and east-facing shores of the Big Island through Wednesday.

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. National Weather Service forecasters say the shores could see 6- to 10-foot waves.

The service categorized the surf’s impact as “moderate,” cautioning of strong breaking waves, shore break and strong long shore and rip currents that can make swimming dangerous.
