“Oh My Baby” program star Ricky Kim was in Hawaii with his family filming for his program. The program has already aired in Korea last weekend in time for Chuseok, a Korean holiday similar to Thanksgiving. Kim was in Honolulu and Hilo in August as his mother lives in Hilo. Hawaiian Airlines partnered with the program and flew Kim’s family to Hawaii from Korea since HA started ICN to HNL service in January 2011. Hawaiian Airlines senior director of global marketing communications says: “It was a pleasure to welcome Ricky and his children onboard — along with all fans of the show — and treat them to our Hawaiian Airlines hospitality as they traveled to our beautiful islands to visit family. We are pleased to support the production of Korean TV shows while allowing our guests to experience the best Hawaii has to offer the moment they board our aircraft.”
“Oh My Baby” with Kim’s visit to Hawaii will air on KBFD Friday at 6:45 p.m., featuring his visit to Waikiki, and Oct. 16 at 6:45 p.m. of his visit to Hilo to visit his mother.
On another note: KBFD has produced its first high-definition documentary on the Korean books in our Hawaii State Public Library System. Moon’s book club started 20 years ago with 200 books and now the Korean book count is over 25,000. This touching two-part documentary will air Saturday and Oct. 11 at 9:30 p.m. Sponsors are Central Pacific Bank, Tony Hyundai, Korean American Foundation, and Hankook Drama Hawaii. The show has English subtitles.
