HONOLULU (AP) — A 34-year-old parolee is suspected in the robbery of a woman at Kapiolani Park.

Surveillance images of a man who used one of the woman’s stolen credit cards generated numerous tips after they were released and led authorities to a suspect.

The man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping. He has not been charged.

Hawaii News Now and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser report the woman was in her vehicle waiting for her daughter to finish soccer practice Monday evening when a man got in her car, held her at gunpoint and made her drive around the park before taking her jewelry, phone and purse.

The suspect has previous convictions for robbery, breaking into vehicles and criminal property damage.
