Two award-winning made-in-Hawaii movies will be screened Saturday during Queen’s MarketPlace’s free movie night.

Two award-winning made-in-Hawaii movies will be screened Saturday during Queen’s MarketPlace’s free movie night.

Filmed on Oahu, “Under the Blood Red Sun” tells the story of two boys — one Japanese, one Caucasian — in the turbulent times after Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. “Under the Blood Red Sun” will be Preceded by “The Fishing Club,” a short film about friends who plot to stop resort construction.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for the free outdoor movie at the Coronation Pavilion.
