Police are asking the public for information to solve a Hilo robbery that sent a victim to an Oahu hospital.
The attack happened in the afternoon of Aug. 6 in the area of Keawe Street, just south of Mamo Street, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
The 33-year-old victim told police that two men approached him from behind and began to punch him. They stole his wallet and cellphone, and tried to steal his backpack, he reported. The suspects then fled the area. The victim described them as having dark complexions and stocky builds, with one standing 5-foot-6 and the other 6 feet tall.
