Master Chef, the popular Fox reality cooking show, is conducting a nationwide search for the best home cooks to participate in its upcoming season.
Master Chef says it has never received a Hawaii chef. Home cooks looking to showcase their unique Hawaiian cuisine to the world are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be age 18 or older on Jan. 1, 2016; be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States; not currently work or previously worked as a professional chef in any setting; and not receive their main source of income from preparing and/or cooking fresh foods in a professional environment, such as a restaurant, hotel, canteen, or catering operation.
To apply, please visit www.masterchefcasting.com. The Master Chef website will instruct how to pre-register an entry profile and begin the process of applying for an open call. Open calls will occur in cities throughout the contiguous United States, through the middle of October. At the open call, applicants will meet the casting team to audition for a chance to be on the show. The website has city locations and other necessary information. The next open call on the West Coast is slated Oct. 10 in Los Angeles.
Completed applications and video submissions must be received by 9 a.m. Hawaii time on Oct. 9.
