The Miss Big Island Scholarship Pageant will be held in November at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Contestants are currently being sought.

Miss Big Island 2016 will receive a wealth of high-impact life experiences, opportunities, awards, gifts and the honor of representing the Big Island at the Miss Hawaii Scholarship Pageant. If chosen as Miss Hawaii, she will represent the state in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant.

The Aloha Productions LLC Miss Big Island Scholarship Program encourages all girls and women to elevate knowledge, opportunity and achievement in self, family, community, country and world; experience important societal issues; enhance professional, personal, and educational goals; develop a network of quality role models, mentors and friends; and showcase their talents.

To compete, entrants must be between age 17 and 24; be a U.S. citizen; resident of Hawaii Island; meet character criteria set forth by the Miss America Organization; be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements; and be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Big Island Scholarship Program.

Also needed are Miss Big Island Scholarship Pageant production cast members. There is no experience necessary, however, participants must be at least 7 years old.
