Aloha Performing Arts Company artistic director Jerry Tracy will revive his portrayal of his fellow Missourian Samuel Langhorne Clemens, in APAC’s December production of “Christmas with Mark Twain.” This time around, the cast includes his family, so Tracy will be holding auditions for four female actors at 6 p.m.Oct. 7 at the APAC Loft in Kainaliu, across the street from Aloha Theatre.
Aloha Performing Arts Company artistic director Jerry Tracy will revive his portrayal of his fellow Missourian Samuel Langhorne Clemens, in APAC’s December production of “Christmas with Mark Twain.” This time around, the cast includes his family, so Tracy will be holding auditions for four female actors at 6 p.m.Oct. 7 at the APAC Loft in Kainaliu, across the street from Aloha Theatre.
The production is set in 1885 at the “Hartford House,” the Clemens home in Connecticut. Tracy will portray Twain as an old man near the end of his life, reminiscing about his glory days. Roles available are: Twain’s wife, Olivia “Livy” Clemens, approximately age 40; and his three daughters: Susy, about age 13, Clara, about age 11, and Jean, between the ages of 6 and 9.
Auditions will consist of interviews and readings from the script. No additional preparation is required. Newcomers are encouraged to audition; no experience is necessary. Rehearsals will begin Oct. 26, and the performance run is Dec. 4 through 20. The family, especially the daughters, will not be required at all rehearsals, but all those who audition must list anticipated schedule conflicts with the entire rehearsal process, and must commit to the entire nine-performance run.
