Virginia Rapoza
Virginia Ako Rapoza, 98, of Captain Cook is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Staci, wife of Willard Rapoza Sr. of Honaunau. Her named was omitted from information supplied by the mortuary for an obituary that ran earlier.
John Schroettner
John Charles Schroettner, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 3, 2015, at his residence. Born Nov. 15, 1941, in Rabafuzes, Hungary, he was a construction superintendent, member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 20 and an Army veteran.
A 9:45 a.m. Mass will be held Sept. 11 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau. Inurnment follows at noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Kona or Fox Chase Cancer Center at 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111-2497.
He is survived by wife, Danielle Schroettner of Kailua-Kona; sons, John (Maria) Schroettner of Allentown, Pa., Paul (Maureen) Schroettner of Kirkville, N.Y.; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Butts of North Aurora, Ill., Cathleen Horan of Millerton, Pa.; brother, Helmut (Deborah) Schroettner of Bethlehem, Pa.; sister, Heide Thomma of Bath, Pa.; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elizabeth Hooker
Elizabeth Hooker, 91, of Hakalau died Aug. 29, 2015, at home. Born in Treverton, Pa., she was a member of the Heritage Christian Fellowship Church.

She is survived by daughters, Jeane (gene) Monnier of Hakalau, Kathryne (Harry) Fisher of Florida; brother, Dan Hooker of Alabama; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria Justo Lao-Ing, 94, of Waikoloa died Sept. 3, 2015, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born March 7, 1921, in La Union, Philippines, she was a retired seasonal farm worker, homemaker and member of Iglesia Ni Cristo.
