A painting by Volcano Village artist Ira Ono has been selected for the Hawaii State Art Museum’s 50th anniversary exhibit titled “Hawaii, Change &Continuity.”
A painting by Volcano Village artist Ira Ono has been selected for the Hawaii State Art Museum’s 50th anniversary exhibit titled “Hawaii, Change & Continuity.”
The exhibit opened Sept. 4 and runs through Oct. 30 at the Honolulu museum.
Ono’s piece, “The Inner Court,” is a mixed media collage painting that evokes the diversity of the spirituality of the island cultures. Ono has been a full-time artist for more than 30 years and his work can be found in collections throughout the United States and Asia.
