Twelve people were arrested in Kona, raising the year to date total to 266.
Ka‘u saw one arrest, bringing the total to 14.
In the South Kohala region, one person was arrested. South Kohala has seen 69 arrests so far this year, while North Kohala has seen 3.
In total, there were 28 arrests across the island between Aug. 31 and Sunday, bringing the total to 721 for the year.
There have been 1,027 major accidents so far this year, against 1,095 in the same time last year. This represents a decline of 6.2 percent.
Fatalities were more common. This time last year there were nine fatalities. This year has seen 15 deaths in traffic accidents. Of those, six were related to drug use and three were related to a combination of drugs and alcohol.
