Great news Hawaii. Budget airline Jin Air will start Incheon, Korea, to Honolulu direct flights beginning Dec. 19. Jin Air will use a Boeing 777-200ER plane, which seats 451 people for the route, five days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will depart at 8:40 p.m. at Incheon International Airport and arrive in Honolulu the same day at 9:20 a.m. The plane departs Honolulu at 11:05 a.m. and arrives in Incheon at 4:55 p.m. the next day. Jin Air is a subsidiary of Korean Air, a regional carrier until now, it has picked Hawaii as its first long-haul international route.
Jin Air joins other carriers who provide direct flights between Seoul, Korea, and Honolulu: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. Round-trip pricing for ICN to HNL is starting under 560,000 won. The current exchange rate for won to dollar is around 1180 won equals $1 U.S. making the fare around $473.64. Jin Air will spur more Korean tourists to Hawaii and also many kamaaina will be able to finally book their flight to Korea via this low-budget pricing. Panda Travel is one of the travel agents that can book for Jin Air. The Honolulu to Seoul round-trip pricing is expected to be in the range of $500 to $650.
