Following several days of warning-level surf along east-facing facing shores of the Big Island, Hawaii County Civil Defense has reopened a handful of East Hawaii beaches and parks closed since Tuesday.
Hawaii County Civil Defense confirmed Thursday morning that Onekahakaha Beach Park, Leleiwi Beach Park, Kealoha Beach Park, Richardsons Beach Park, Ahalanui Beach Park and Laupahoehoe Boat Ramp were open.
A high surf warning, however, remains in effect for east-facing shores of the Big Island through 6 p.m. Thursday. Click here for more details.
