Catherine Lyman

Catherine Reyes Lyman, 52, of Papaikou July 30, 2015, at home. Born in Honokaa, she was an educational assistant at Hilo High School and member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 2 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Sept. 3 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass followed by urn committal at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. The family requests aloha attire be worn and that flowers be omitted. Lei are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Kalani Lyman of Papaikou; sons, Kimo (Michelle) Quick-Reyes of Papaaloa, Kevin (Kuuipo) Lyman of Papaikou; daughter, Kaimana Reyes of Papaikou, mother, Mary Reyes of Papaaloa, father, Norman (Pam) Lyman of Hilo; brothers, Malvin (Tammy Domingo) Reyes of Pepeekeo, Carl (Georgeann) Reyes of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Fannie (Tremayne) Narte of Kailua-Kona, Winifred (Dominic) Vidinha of Papaaloa; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gleceria Mendoza

Gleceria “Ceriang” Erece Mendoza, 88, of Hilo died Aug. 13, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born May 13, 1927, in Ookala, she was a presser at the former Hilo Quality Cleaners and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 3 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Sept. 4 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn. Burial will be held at Alae Cemetery, Section K.

She is survived by sons, Roy (Karen) Mendoza of Henderson, Nevada, Wayne (Stacie) Mendoza of Honolulu; daughter, Frances Mendoza Oliphant of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
