The continuing investigation of the murder of Dolores “Lolo” Borja Valle, 69, of Holualoa, has lead police to release photos.
Borja Valle was found dead on Aug. 9 in a Captain Cook coffee field off Keopuka Mauka. An autopsy determined he died from sharp and blunt force trauma to his head. It was ruled a homicide.
His white 2014 Toyota Tacoma was recovered later in Kaʻu.
Detectives continue to investigate this case as a murder.
The goal is to get people talking about the murder, said Lt. Gerald Wike of the Area II investigations.
This can lead to people realizing they saw the victim, the truck or other piece of information that can help police solve the case, he said.
“We have had a response from members of the community,” he said. Hopefully that involvement will “inspire” more people to come forward, he said
