Honey Kihe

Honey Verna Kihe, 71, of Napoopoo died July 7, 2015, at her residence. Born Oct. 14, 1943, in Honolulu, she was a coffee farmer and construction laborer for Keauhou Kona Resort Construction.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Aug. 29 at Kahikolu Congregational Church in Napoopoo for a 9:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Alika Manese of the mainland, Kaleo (Marcia) Kihe of Keopuka Heights, Charles Gaspar III of Napoopoo, Kaiikapono (Collette) Kihe of Captain Cook; daughters, Haliimaile (Paul) Phipps of Napoopoo, Mahealani Kihe of Middle Keei; brothers, Joseph (Florist) Navas of Kauai, Edward (Bobby) Navas of Honaunau, Maxie Dell (Pixie) Navas of Keauhou; sisters, Momi Rapoza of Hilo, Honey Girl Tom of Kaneohe, Oahu, Sheila Frasco of Kealakekua, Annie Araki of Napoopoo, Gail Nitolama of Honolulu, Wilma Keawe of Waianae, Oahu; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alberta Gendron, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 13, 2015, at home.

Lorraine Chew

Lorraine Hume Chew, 84, of Hilo died Aug. 20, 2015, at her residence. Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Kohala, she was a cafeteria worker at Pahoa High School, former manager of Blue Bird Drive-In in Pearl City, Oahu, and member of NAARFE.

She is survived by daughters, Waonette (Suzie) Chew of La Habra, Calif., Marva Lynn Chew of Panaewa, Jowett (Keith) Chew-Marumoto of Hilo, Rayveen (Tim) Waters of Golden, Mo., Violyna (Roberto) Fernandez of Downey, Calif.; son, Langford (Mary) Chew of Makakilo, Oahu; hanai son, Walter Hall of Honolulu; sisters, Winona Pavo and Elaine Pahio, both of Honolulu, HI; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Denise Witte

Denise Marie Witte, 50, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 22, 2015, in Kailua-Kona. Born June 29, 1965, in Cleveland, she was a massage therapist.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by husband, David Witte of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Charisse Witte, Breyana Witte and Cailley Witte, all of Kailua-Kona.

Dorothy Akau

Dorothy “Dee” Ann Akau, 70, of Waikoloa died Aug. 12, 2015, at home. Born March 9, 1945 in Olaa, she was a retired cashier for Walmart in Kailua-Kona.

Private services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by sons, Abraham Akau, William Akau and Isaac Akau; daughter, Wendy Akau; brother, Kenneth Victorino; sisters, Sandy Anthony, Phyllis Oliva; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
