West Hawaii Dance Theatre &Academy will be holding auditions for “The Nutcracker” ballet on Aug. 29 in Kailua-Kona.

West Hawaii Dance Theatre &Academy will be holding auditions for “The Nutcracker” ballet on Aug. 29 in Kailua-Kona.

The main performance will be held at Kahilu Theatre on Dec. 21 and 22. Additional “mini” performances and appearances will also be scheduled various West Hawaii locations throughout December.

Rolls to be cast include angels, toy soldiers, mice, party girls and boys, party parents, and a host of other “sweets” for the Land of the Sweets. If you would like to join the cast, but cannot make the audition, contact the academy.

Interested performers should report Aug. 29 to the West Hawaii Dance Theatre &Academy studio off Alapa Street.

Performers between ages 3 and 7 should report at 2 p.m.; performers between ages 8 and 12 at 2:20 p.m.; and teens and adults at 3:15 p.m.
