HONOLULU (AP) — Maui police have fatally shot a man who allegedly fired a handgun at officers in a Kahului park.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1K5qX9u ) that the shooting happened Wednesday night after officers responded to a suspicious activity complaint at Keopuolani Park.
A statement from police said that the man had pulled out a small-caliber handgun and fired at officers. Officers returned fire, and the man died at the scene.
The shooting is still under investigation.
