After months of planning, buildout and production, Quill and Feather and Pueo Boutique will open its doors at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kailua-Kona.

Hannah Carpenter and Amy Sheffield will share their collaborative venture showcasing clothing, home goods, art and handmade jewelry. Acting on a growing trend these ladies have decided to share a space allowing them to focus their energy on creating and curating product while minimizing overhead.

It is located in the recently renovated Kona Beach Plaza at the top of Lunapule Road, just up from Yama’s Fishing. For more information, call 315-7559.

Jury questionnaires to be mailed

Every August, the Hawaii State Judiciary mails juror questionnaires to individuals who have a Hawaii state driver’s license and are registered to vote in the state of Hawaii. Beginning Monday, approximately 70,000 juror questionnaires will be mailed to 85,000 residents on Hawaii Island. The questionnaires are used to help select potential jurors who may be eligible to serve in 2016.

Those who receive a questionnaire have 10 days to complete and return the questionnaire to the Jury Pool Office. Anyone who fails to respond may be penalized.

Eligible jurors must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, a resident of Hawaii, and able to read and understand English.

Online voter registration now available

Residents with a Hawaii driver’s license or state ID may now register to vote online. The service also allows voters to update their information and request a permanent absentee ballot.

The online system was built to ensure that only persons providing verifiable identification are able to register online. All online submissions will go through the same verification process as paper applications.

Residents who are not eligible to use the online system can still register to vote by a paper application that may be submitted to their city/county clerk’s office. To register to vote online or to obtain a Voter Registration and Permanent Absentee Application, go to elections.hawaii.gov
