Mokulele Airlines is adding two flights between Kona International Airport and Molokai beginning in September.
The expansion will increase the carrier’s flights between Kona and Molokai from five to seven a day.
The family owned and operated airline has quadrupled the daily flights since 2011 when Mokulele was purchased from Mesa Airlines. Mokulele has been in business since 1994 and is based at Kona International Airport with about 250 employees.
The airline operates 11 new nine-passenger turboprop Cessna Grand Caravans and offers 120 to 150 daily flights between nine airports on Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii Island.
